PeeWee HL Cooperators Finish Well

The Kincardine PeeWee HL girls team finished the year in league playoff action. Friday the 26th in Southampton, the locals played strong defensively against TCDMHA until Eden McFarlane scored the winning goal midway through the third period on a nice solo effort.

Madisyn Johnston made a slick play to get herself open to score the insurance goal a few minutes later to make it a 2-0 finale.In game two on the 27th against Lucknow, the winning goal came in the first period,again by McFarlane with a nice feed from the corner from Gracie Stewart.Hayley Sorbara's insurance goal late in the third period was a remarkable effort. She fought off three checks to go in alone on the Lucknow goalie and bury a low shot. The 2-0 victory was Sophie Tomaini's second shutout. In the finale in Port Elgin on the 28th vs Tiverton, Kincardine missed some good scoring chances in the second period which proved costly.Despite battling hard, the girls lost 4-1. The goal game from the stick of Makayla McGregor with assists by McFarlane and Stewart. This made it a silver medal hat trick for the year,to go along with the gold.The team compiled an overall record of 30-13-2 with 18 shutouts. Many thanks goes to the families and the girls for theit commitment and effort over 45 games.
