You Win Some and You Lose Some! Exciting weekend for Peewee LL2!
It was a shutout for goalie John Graham on Halloween against the South Bruce Blades!   The team played defensively to start, and were able to hold off any opponent goals.  Without a lot of shots on net, Daniel Melnikov managed to gain ground with the puck and achieve the first goal of the game during the first period.

In the second period, offence took hold and increased shots on net, while defence was still able to defend their lead.  It was an even fight with no goals scored for either team.

In the third period, the fire was lit and Sam MacTavish, Augustus Young and Cole Price made some excellent shots on net, but it was Brock Courtney who took the second goal of the game from the right side long into the net!  The boys kept fighting hard with awesome passing from Bennett Janes, Daniel Melnikov and Noah Page, and some strong defending by Noah McArthur, David Ulak and Sam MacTavish.

In the last seconds of the game, the opponents pulled their goalie which Sam MacTavish took full advantage of when he came up with a long shot to the net and scored the last goal of the game to make it a 3-0 win for Kincardine!!

The second game of the weekend was against the Shallow Lake Lakers, but Peewee LL2 was not as successful in commanding the ice.  In the first period the opponents were able to score three early goals, but the boys didn’t give up and we saw some solid attacking at the boards to dig for the puck by Chris McLarty.  In the second period they were able to hold the Lakers off from scoring any further goals, and Jake Wall and Noah Page kept pushing the puck up the rink, while goalie Daniel Melnikov made some great saves.

Period 3 held a lot of action, as the opponents picked up two more goals and there were penalties made for disorderly conduct.  Kincardine took advantage during the power play to push hard into the opponents net and Dakota Condie was able to connect with a pass from Tomas Nancekivell and score a goal, making the game 5-1.  Although there was solid blocking by Noah McArthur, Isaiah Wencel and some strong effort by Lucas Bronkhorst, the opponents were able to pick up one more goal leaving the final score 6-1 as a loss for Kincardine.

We may win and we may lose, but we will never give up and we will push hard all the way to the end of the game!  Let’s always play as good sportsmen and keep the spirit of Peewee LL2 high!
