Sunday's Game against Drayton
On Sunday November 15th, the Bantam Old Stars hosted the Drayton Bantam Local League team. With Kevin Chau starting in the net and Brad Liddle as the closer (and yes, I do know what game this is!), the Old Stars were off and skating!
Early in the first period, the forwards peppered the Drayton goalie with shot after shot. Catching the rebound, Jordan Bell smacked one in through the 5 hole with Marcel Fohkens and Jesse Hall catching the assist. Several minutes later, Logan Shewfelt picked up another rebound with the assist awarded to Bell and Aiden Calcutt. With the Old Stars swarming the Drayton net, Fohkens caught the pass from Jason McDonell and sent it home. Drayton answered the call in the second period. The third period was a busy one. The old Stars opened up the scoring with Bell setting up Fohkens who managed to put the puck on the top shelf where they keep the peanut butter. Drayton go their afterburners fired up and during a melee at the net, they managed to find an opening. This seemed to fire up the Stars. On a power play Geordie Farrell and McDonell set up Shewfelt who fired one in from the point and hit pay dirt. Brent McDonald closed out the scoring with assists awarded to Ryan Swift and Fohkens. Hats off to the defensive crew for making this look easy. Final score: 6-2 for the old Stars!
