The Peewee girls are off to a strong start. The girls faced
Walkerton last week in exhibition play; all the girls came on strong and ready
to start their season. With a short bench, the Peewees played good positional
hockey all around. The whole team was consistent throughout the game. Scoring
two goals in each of the three periods gave the Kinucks their first shut out of
the year. In her hockey career
debut Hannah Gratto grabbed an assist in the last
two minutes of play.
On Saturday Oct 11 the peewees faced Mt Forest
in their first regular season game. Coming off a big win the girls were confident and with a full roster they were determined to play hard.
With a long delay to the start of the game the girls worked on their passing and tested their net minder Vana with a firing squad of shots. Which proved successful as Vana was sharp and on her game between the pipes.
The Kinucks defense was on par and the offense was on fire, netting 4 goals in the first. The second period saw 5 goals for the girls but Mt forest wasn’t giving up easily, and with a few “superman” saves the girls went into the third no damage on the board. The third saw 4 more goals for the Kinucks, and the whole peewee roster on the score sheet.
The Peewees travel to Harriston on Saturday October 18th to face Upper Maitland to continue their streak.
