Kincardine Peewee girls visit Mt forest and remain undefeated.
The Kinucks were in Mt forest on Saturday to face the Rams,
the girls were full of confidence and determined to give Coach Matt a big
birthday win and remain undefeated.
Just 30 seconds into the first the Rams took a tripping
penalty. The Kinucks took advantage, carrying the puck end to end. Assists from Brooklyn M and Kennedy F helped
Brooklyn C beat the Rams goalie for the power play goal.
Kincardine was strong
in the face off keeping the momentum on our side. Liz C had a long shot to Mt
forests end allowing big scoring chances from Mackenzie K and
Paige M.
The Rams
took advantage of a quick change by the Kinucks, with breakaway shot but were denied
with a big save from Vana.
With 56.4 seconds left in the frame, Kennedy F broke from the Rams pack for a breakaway goal. Only 14 seconds later Paige S lit the lamp with an assist from Brooklyn C putting the Kinucks up by 3 heading into the second.
At the start of the second the Rams had another breakaway chance, when Mackenzie K shut them down at her blue line. Then with a quick pass from Hannah G, Brooklyn M scored putting the Kinucks up by 4.
With her third assist of the game Hannah G tipped the puck to Kennedy F who put another on the scoreboard for the girls. It only took 23 Seconds for Kincardine to score again when Paige S passed to Brooklyn M who scored her second of the game.
The Third saw 3 more goals from Paige M, Sarah K and Brooklyn C, with assists from Kennedy F, Liz C and Paige M. Late in the frame a slashing penalty against Kincardine gave Mt Forest a chance up the ice only to be denied by the Kinucks strong defense. The Kinucks played great two way hockey, and gave Coach Matt a big birthday win.
The final of 9-0 keeps the Peewee girls undefeated and brings Vana’s shutout streak to 5 games.
