Teachers returned Halloween favours to
parents, sending the Girls off from school all hopped up on sweets for their
second game in the play-down series on Valentine’s Day.
This was a very fast-paced game, with the Girls having to dig hard for the puck and working well to hold both position and lines. This game provided several examples of the Girls actively reading the game and identifying shifts in the plays as defensive lines moved in and back, and forward positions proactively responding to the plays set up by the defensive lines.
Goals in this game stacked up for the Kinucks with full team support. The first period saw a single goal by Makayla Fyke, assisted by Kala Rumbold. In the second, Makayla would bring in a second and Parker Talbot a third, each assisted by Emma MacDonald. In the third period, both Parker and Makayla would catch nice breakaways in short succession with the game’s 4th and 5th goals.
Final score: 5-0
Thanks for the extra sugar boost, Teachers. It came in handy tonight! ~White
