Archie McMillan

Archie McMillan worked for Ontario Hydro for over twenty years. He started at

Lakeview and Nanticoke as an Instrument Technician and then moved to the Bruce in

1976. He immediately became interested in the protection of workers' rights and

became a union steward. Eventually he became the chief steward at the Bruce and

spent fifteen years traveling to Toronto working on various committees and was directly

involved in contract negotiations for many years. Workers' health and insurance

benefits are a direct result of his input. During those years he resided in Kincardine, with

his wife, Shirley, and his two sons, Kyle and Ross.
