Battle of Kincardine Ends in Tie!

Kincardine Meridian Credit Union Atom LL2 faced off against local rivals the Kincardine Hair Connection Atom LL1 for an exhibition game, and bragging rights, on Wednesday Jan 13th.
The game was close from the first drop of the puck with back and forth chances and end-to-end plays. However, it was hard work in the corner from Georgia F that resulted in a centering pass to Austin M who transferred to Sam C for the goal that put Meridian up 1-0 by the end of the first period.
The score held until midway in the second when the Hair Connection tied it up. Meridian took the lead again when Brady M cleaned up a Brydon N rebound with a few minutes remaining. But, alas, the Hair Connection came right back and evened the score again at 2-2 before the second period expired.
In the third, the Hair Connection threatened to take over but were stopped twice by Meridian goalie Liam M on successive breakaways to keep Meridian in the game. Then, with determination, Meridian got the go-ahead goal from Brady M unassisted.
Yet again, the Hair Connection tied it up with a couple of minutes left. Despite lots of pressure and many chances, Meridian were unable to put the game away once and for all, resulting in a 3-3 tie! Stay tuned: bragging rights may yet be determined in the post-season!
