After a disappointing loss to Normanby, the LL#2 team came out Sunday to play Kincardine LL#1 in Tiverton. At the first drop of the puck LL#2 let LL#1 remember who they were playing against. The play was quick and passes were as accurate as any you would see from an Atom team. But even though they were playing like a young NHL team they just couldn’t seem to scrape up enough to account for a first period goal.
The second period started much the same as the first; however LL#1 got another goal at the 06:30 marker. LL#2 backup goalie, Brydon N was doing everything possible to try to keep his team in the game. Some would think he resembled some kind of fish out of water with the way he was backstopping in net.
The third period started with LL#2 down 2-0 but on came Austin M, Sam.C and Tyler D, for LL#2 who had a couple of good opportunities to get on the board. Following up on this action the remaining two lines played like true champs, but unfortunately this was not Kincardine LL#2’s night as all their efforts went out the window when LL#1 scored two more times to make it a 4-0 game.
In all, every player played a great game. It just wasn’t in the cards for them this time around.
Congratulations to the LL# 1 team as they deserved the taste of victory!!
