The LL#2 Meridian squad faced off against Hanover for an exciting game this afternoon.  Coach Dave earger to lead the kids to their first win, switched things up a bit.

In a daring move, he paired Brady M with Connor B, and Justin M with Julia M on defense.  This helped to bolster the team defensively and provide Liam M with excellent coverage.  The strong defensive lines worked well to keep the puck in the Hanover end for most of the first 2 periods.
This allowed Austyn M to tie the score in the first period with a bullet shot from the point.  Although Josh F, Mark Y and Sam C had excellent scoring chances the game was tied 1-1 until the end of the second.
Josh F to played the entire game forward and together with Brydon N, Liam H, Sam and Austyn they made excellent passes and had several shots miraculously stopped by Hanovers goaltender.  Hanover took the lead early in the third period, somehow finding a hole between Liams pads.  The fans became excited when Meridian had a 2 minute powerplay, but were unable to go ahead.  The game ended 4-1 for Hanover.
Coach Dave declared the whole team "players of the game" as they worked well together and skated hard.  Fans eagerly await the game tomorrow morning against Ripley.....
