The Municipality of Kincardine is in it's final stages of the Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan. The are looking for community engagement to see the priorities of the residents of the Municipality of Kincardine.
Our organization continues to grow with every season. New players continue join hockey at all ages, but especially our U7 timbits program.
We are very quicky running out of ice time and have already had to limit registrations and remove our development this year to accommodate for the increase in team numbers.
Many of our families play multiple sports in the municipality and this survey addresses all areas from Parks to Facilities.
We want to ensure that the future of recreation and Minor Hockey is taken into account and not just the needs of today.

Everyone knows how I feel about recreation in this Municipality.
When I moved here 35 years ago the Davidson Center was the best Facility in the region. It needs a lot of money to keep it operating. Our Facilities are getting close to the end of there life cycle. We are doing a survey to help Council plan for the best recreation facilities and parks we can have for our growing Community. When you plan, I mean in the next 5-15 years. Our growth must be taken into consideration. Good planning now will help future Councils. This survey will help this Council plan for our future Recreation Facilities ,Parks and sports fields for all ages. We need input from people with young families who will benefit from these decisions. What are we lacking in Recreation that you would like to see is important. Our park space needs to be vibrant and for all ages. I have questions for you to think about before filling out the Survey. Should we be put a lot of money into fixing up our current sports fields and facilities. Should we build a new double ice pad and swimming pool and all sports field close to new high school. Or should we build it in another spot. How do we fund it .Good planning means we start putting money aside shortly. Would you like to see all sports fields and New Facilities at the same spot. Do we build in Tiverton ,acknowledging that it is in the middle of our Municipality. With the growth expected in Tiverton and Inverhuron it looks like we will grow mostly to the North.
I believe we should have all our recreation in the same spot in the future. An indoor soccer facility in the Davidson Center or the Tiverton arena should be in a future recreation plan. Soccer year round would help all ages. How do we balance the vision of recreation facilities and parks with the need to fund them.
Currently we have close to 400 people that have filled in the Survey on the Municipality website. I think we need over 1000 to get a good read on what people think. Please help me reach this goal, or if you think all the ideas are bad let us know. Final date is December 11th.
