Coach The Coaches 11NOV Session

Attention KMHA Coaches/Staff:

 

For the third Coaches Development seminar, KMHA is proud to announce Jason Brooks will be presenting a seminar on the Forecheck and Offensive Zone play. Jason will also be giving tips on neutral zone transitions and how to beat the 1-2-2., as well as ways to coach/practice these options.

 

The session is being held in the Meeting Room AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP to the arena stands – to the left.  The seminar starts at 7pm on Monday Nov 11th and is free to all KMHA Coaches, Staff and Prospective Association volunteers.

 

Jason started his hockey career in Listowel, playing for the Cyclones and then moving on to play for the Ottawa 67’s from 1993-1994 and then the London Knights from 1994-1996. After his OHL career he played for the University of Waterloo Warriors from 1997-1998 and was the assistant coach of the University of Waterloo from 1999-2001. Jason coached with the Guelph Storm of the OHL from 2001-2010 as an Assistant Coach, Associate Coach, Head Coach and Assistant GM and GM. He then went on to take the position of Assistant Coach with the Niagara Ice Dogs from 2011-2013. 

 

Jason won an OHL Championship with the Guelph Storm in 2004, was on the under 17 coaching staff from 2005-2008 as an Assistant Coach and then as Head Coach. Won the Canada Winter Games in 2007 as an Assistant Coach and the Under 17 Hockey Challenge in 2008 as Head Coach

 

For the past 5 years, Brooks has coached the Listowel Jr B Cyclones of the GOJHL. Jason was instrumental in leading the Cyclones to an OHA All Ontario Sutherland Cup Championship in 2017/18 and back-to-back Midwestern Cherrey Cup Championships in 2016/17 and 2017/18.
