Midgets off to Good Start
The 2009/2010 version of the Kincardine Miller Insurance Midgets opened the season in Lionshead to a sellout and boisterous crowd. Early game jitters gave way to numerous chances by both teams with both kincardine goalies Easton Battler and Kegan Woodman coming up big when called upon. The first two periods went   scoreless as both teams attempted to establish a physical presence which resulted in a steady parade to the penalty box. Kincardine broke the scoreless deadlock with a nice wrister by Alex .

Legrand   who was sent in alone with a bullet pass by a Dylan Sayle. The home squad got the equalizer with 4 minutes remaining; a defensive battle ensued with the final score remaining deadlocked at ones. Game two had the boys continue the road trip in Ayton as visitors to the Hanover squad who are using the quaint little barn as their home until their new facility is completed. Kincardine held the edge from the opening face of with smothering forchecking by Josh Gauthier, Chris Beattie and Jory Norman. Any time the Hanover offence broke out they were quickly shut down by the wall of defense led by Mathew Osadca, Dallas Perkins, Josh (the Cheese) MacDonald and Sam Gurbin. Both teams were held scoreless until early in the second frame Josh MacDonald found the back of the net from the blue line with the assist going to Dylan Sayle and Phil Bernath. Kincardine added to the lead when Garrett Satosek banged in a one timer off a give and go from Mitch Dickson who out fought two defenders in the corner to get the puck to the front of the net. The final frame saw the boys go into shutdown mode lead by Karsen Ellis and Cody Bowes who lead the high energy forecheck that kept the Hanover team pinned down for the final frame. Keegan shut the door gaining his first shutout of the year
