Hawg’s Breath Midget Girls Open Season with a Win

On Thursday October 21, 2010 the Kincardine Kinucks Midget "C" Girls Hockey Team opened their 2010/2011 season with a 4 - 1 win over Mildmay. The game opened with excitement and high energy, but it was only in the second period that Kincardine’s effort was confirmed with a goal by Anna McFarlan, assisted by Courtney Surridge thus ending the second 1 - 0 for Kincardine.
The third period continued to be fast paced with the Kinucks adding three more goals to the scoreboard. Goals and assists as follows: Padfield 2G, Katelyn McCallum 1G, 1A; Cosette French 2A; McFarlan 1A; and Jenna Rees 1A. In the last minutes of play Mildmay managed to score making the final tally 4 - 1 for the Kinucks. Goalie Meagan McDonald played an outstanding game making several impressive saves and keeping Kincardine on top.
This year’s team continues with Cayly Bellan, Samantha Bianco, Justine Buchler, Madison Doerr, Emily Elphick, Brittany Hewitt, Sarah Leyden, Madison McFadden, Taylor Nashiem, Carly Schmidt and Dale Smith. This years coaching staff consists of Head Coach Tania Dwinnell, Assistant Coach Karen Kieffer, Trainers Heather Padfield and Laura Doerr.
