Blues On Fire
Team Blue coming off their Saturday victory against Team 2 was fired up to take on their first out of town opponents Ripley Wolves.

No sooner had the game started when they took an early lead with a goal from #8 Alex Colley in the 1st minute. Numerous unsuccessful attempts followed until #4 Halley Pletch managed to skilfully slip one by the Ripley Wolves goalie. This was followed a couple of minutes later by #8 Alex Colley for his second of the game.

Team Blue started the 2nd period the way they finished it pumped and lead by DJ Diva Minerva’s hockey arena pumping music. # 8 Alex, getting into his rhythm, struck yet again early in the first minute with another great goal. Pressure from #13 Makenna  Kirkonnel nearly netted another goal but was denied by some great goal tending by the Wolves goalie who somehow managed to keep the puck out of the net . 3 minutes in #10 Jacob McKitterick earned his 1st goal of the game assisted by #7 Kole McCormack. This was followed shortly by another from # 4 Halley showing she had gotten into her groove.

Great defending by #5 Ross Killin and excellent Goal tending by goalie #1 Ibtehal helped the Blues maintain their lead but after keeping the puck out of their net with her great goalkeeping skills the Wolves managed to sneak 1 past them. Not deterred by this Team Blues rallied to score another 3 goals making it 5 for #8 Alex and the 1st of the game for #7 Kole.

Adrenaline flowing, and the Team Pumping music by our resident DJ, the Blues took to the ice for the final period. Within a few minutes #11 Myles H scored making it his 1st Novice goal. Way to go Myles. J.  Not to be outshone the girls #4 Halley, #3 Rachael, #13 Makenna and #14 Taya made many attempts at sinking the puck but it wasn’t to be on this occasion.

Not slowing the pace #10 Jacob and #7 Kole were able to score again adding to their tallies. #6 Koledyn and #15 Thomas helped ensure that the Wolves did not score again with some solid defensive plays. With 1 final goal for the Blues this sealed an emphatic 13-1 win.

Great passing and team work earned them this well deserved victory. Team Blue was truly on fire.

Hard Worker of the Game went to #8 Alex Colley.

Way to go Team Blue.
