Atom Kinucks tame Coyotes in All Ontario
The Canadian Tire sponsored Kincardine Atom Kinucks continued their exceptional season when they swept the Elmvale Coyotes 3-0, in the 'All Ontario' series, advancing to the last four in the Province, where they'll face the Parry Sound Shamrocks.

Bolstered by the return of D-man Nate Arnold from injury, the Kinucks got off to a good start in the Elmvale series when two early goals from Alex Colley-Aquino put them on the road to success. Further goals from Carson 'Teddy' Fletcher and Noah Swann (2) would see the Kinucks run out 5-2 victors.

The next game would see the Kinucks travel up to Elmvale and claim a 2-0 win, again thanks to goals from Noah Swann and Carson Fletcher. Noah Page, Jared Houghton and Quinton Page would all contribute with assists, but a large amount of credit should go to goalie Ryan Tanner. Tanner had to be at his very best as the Kinucks found themselves in penalty trouble and short handed for 14 minutes of the game, compared with Elmvale's 2 minutes. Thankfully for the Kinucks, Tanner would be superb, once again.

The third and final game was played on Wednesday night when the Atom Kinucks, along with the Midget team, took part in a fundraiser for the Koberinski family who had lost their house in a fire, a few days earlier. Once again, the Kinucks got off to a good start as they leapt into a 2-0 lead. Carson Fletcher opened the scoring with an unassisted goal. This was followed by a Quinton Page goal as he expertly dispatched a rebound, with assists going to Cam Fletcher and Sam MacTavish.

This wasn't going to be easy as the Coyotes fought back and took a 3-2 lead, for the first time in the series. Quinton Page would again put the Kinucks on level terms, assisted by Jared Houghton and Carson Fletcher, only for the Coyotes to bite back and take a 4-3 lead! This game was turning out to be a thriller!

The Kinucks went into the third period looking for an equalizer. With nine minutes remaining Sam MacTavish made a pass out to the point where Noah Page fired a shot goal bound from the blue line. The shot from Page would find winger Cam Fletcher who deflected the puck in mid air, over the shoulder of the Elmvale goalie. The game was tied at 4-4 and heading for sudden death overtime.

The overtime period certainly wasn't for the faint hearted as the game rushed from end to end, as a large Kincardine crowd sat on the edge of their seats. The finale was incredible when Noah Swann scored with 2.1 seconds remaining in the game, putting the Kinucks through to the last 4 in Ontario!

The following weekend also saw the Atom Kinucks return to the Cruikshank Play-off action, beating the Listowell Cyclones 6-4, with Noah Swann notching his 100th goal of the season! The other goalscorers in this game were Alex Colley Aquino and Quinton Page, with assists going to Casey Biesel (2), Holden Stevenson (2), Carson Fletcher and Sam MacTavish.
