The fifth game in the Play-down series had
the Girls hosting the Saugeen Shores Storm at the Davidson Center Arena.
In the first period, there was plenty of back and forth on the ice. The Storm lineup worked hard against the Kinucks to control the play and the ice saw a fair bit of action on both ends. Shortly before the end of the first, however, Parker Talbot would bring through a Goal for the Kinucks with an assist from Gabby Garneau.
The second period saw two more goals for the Kinucks; the first by Kala Rumbold, assisted by Sadie White and Lilly Pace. Gabby Garneau would be soon to follow with the Game’s third goal, assisted by Alyssa Collins and Marley Dalcourt.
In the third period, Parker Talbot was on fire at the Storm’s net scoring three goals. The first was assisted by Emma MacDonald and Makayla Fyke; the second she caught on a tremendous breakaway, stickhandling the puck through the Storm’s full line; and the third from a nice play at the net assisted by Makayla Fyke and Lilly Pace.
The Kinucks would have to work hard to advance the play and put forth tremendous effort at the boards. Passing skills were on-point in this game. There were a number of plays set up by our Kinucks that had the Girls passing through layers of skates and sticks, and stickhandling through tight groupings of Storm Defensemen. Fantastic Game, Kinucks!! Final score: 6-0.
