Kinuck Pewee Girls win season openers
The Kinuck Pewee Girls played their first regular season games this past week delivering defeats to both Lucknow (6-0) on Saturday October 25th and the Walkerton Capitals (3-1) on Tuesday October 25th.

It was obvious that the Kinucks had come to win on Saturday and they dominated the play throughout the game in securing their 6-0 victory.  Eden  M. scored the first and what was to be the game winner at 6:46 of the first period. Charlotte B. and  Megan S.  had assists on the play.  Rachel W.  added another at 2:14 to round out the first period with help from Ashley B. and Gracie S..  The game changed pace in the second period with Lucknow shutting down the Kinucks offence.  There was no scoring until midway in the third period when Rachel W. scored unassisted at 8:26.  The final minutes of play saw a flurry of goals with Lara C. scoring at 3:04 assisted by Darby W., Rachel W. 1:57 assisted by  Ashley B.  Lara C. was strike on last time with fifty four seconds left in the game on a nice passing play from Charlotte B.  and Tara W.After the 10-1 victory over Walkerton on the 19th one could forgive the Kinucks for feeling a little confident when the teams took to the ice on Tuesday.  It was a hard fought game with limited scoring in the first two periods with only one goal by the Kinucks (Ashley B.  from Megan S.  at 8:46 of the first period.   The scoring was sparse, a testament to the solid defensive squads and goaltending by both teams.  The third period saw the Kinucks score goals at 10:26 (Megan S.  from Lara C.  and Jorie E.) and at 3:53 (Lara C. from Jenna G.  and Ashley B.).   Kasey B., between the posts for the Kinucks, had shut the door on the Capitals but the shut out was spoiled when Hannah M. passed one by with three seconds left in the game.
