Pee Wee Girls Decimate Opposition in Creemore
The Cooperators Pee Wee girls team traveled far to the north in very adverse snow conditions to the 2008 Clearview Ice Cats Girls house league tournament, with this in mind there was only one thing to do- bring home some hardware !

This years champs now belong to the Kincardine Kinucks Peewee girls house league sponsored by the Cooperators insurance . The girls went up Saturday morning then staying after there 2 games on Saturday at  the Blue Mountain inns for the Saturday night over even allowing  where some had a little time for skiing .

Once arriving to the arena in Creemore for the 1st game to register & play at noon , with a lot of things starting to fall apart as The team goalie Kasey B. reported in sick at 6:00am Saturday morning and out for the weekend! Then missing 2 players , Ashley B. & Gracie S. for other commitments this weekend, leaving the bench shorter than usual, also with Lara C. arriving not feeling good at all, missing the 1st game!

Our 1st game against Mississauga, The Kinucks played Mercedes B. with #30 on the sweater to fill in as goalie and at the same time losing a Center man ,  leaving out front lines thin too. Knowing this the team had to raise the bar a few notches to be able to compete. Well as the teams 1st period impressions were from the crowd, did we bring the Rep team?? This team really came out playing hockey from everyone there and all 3 periods of all 3 games they played to win the championship. Mississauga was shut down by our defense as well as our offense was dominated their end zones with all the effort and passing ! Battler maintained the shutout for this game, winning 5-0 . The next game Saturday night came against Clearview icecats, also same thing ,but this game was even more exciting as players were really wanting to succeed. As the final score of this victory was 5-1 . The final game was bumped up because of the weather conditions on Sunday and a team failed to show in another division, so our team was shorted 1 extra game, but this placed us in the Championship game at 4:00pm, against Barrie peewee house league Colts who were also undefeated till this game, and once again the girls raised thier team level of hockey on the bar another notch. This was not a easy game , but with all the passing and shooting in this game, we outshot Barrie 43 shots to 7 which sums up the balance forwards and strong defense . The final score was 4-0 victory as the team skated to victory & received their medals and trophy. Great effort from all 4 defense , Darby W., Jorie E., Jenna G., Tara W., really helping the team, lacking those players. Our forwards were on fire, as Charolette B., Elsie S., Tegan M., Eden M, Rachel W.  held the winger positions making lots of plays and applying lots of offensive pressure . Megan S., Lara C. and Rachel were Centers which played awesome. The MVP's for each game were selected by opposing team coach's and given, Megan was selected for game #1 & #3 and Jorie was MVP for game # 2 . Every player received at least 1 assist or more, with goals scored Eden 1 , Lara 2 , Rachel 3 & Megan with 8 total. Mercedes let only 1 goal in from 3 games, awesome ! Good work going to Trainer Julie Whitney and Coached Paul Watterworth and Keith Battler.
