The Kincardine Kinuck
Legion Peewees travelled to Durham
to take on the Huskies in their first match of the season.
It was a high scoring penalty filled game. The Huskies scored first in the first period with the Kinucks unable to come back until the second. Then the scoring began with Andrew Potter assisted by Ethan Long and Long assisted by Jakob Dunlop and Potter. The second ended with another goal by Bradley Picket assisted by Ben Netzke and Kurt Dunsbier. End of second 3-1.
The third period was full of goals (for Kincardine) and penalties for both teams. Brett Burrows started it off unassisted followed by Potter assisted by Long and Dunlop. Durham was able to score on Ethan Primeau one more time in the 3rd but had a game misconduct for checking from behind and a checking to the head penalty taking two of their players out. With the score 5-2, Kincardine kept scoring making it 9-2 in the final. Two of the goals were scored by Long assisted by Dunlop, one unassisted by Grant Stevens and one unassisted by Netzke. Good goal tending and defense also contributed to the one sided game.
