Wee Rep Team travelled to Mitchell this past weekend for the Mitchell Tournament
They faced teams from Mitchell, Oro and Twin Centre.
Their first game was an early start for the boys against Twin Centre. The Twin Centre team was just a bit more alert and managed to close the game with a 4-2 win.
The boys second game was against Oro. With a great breakfast served by the organizers of the tournament in their bellies and some time to wake-up, the team put on a great show and walked away with a 4-1 win.
We ended the day second in our division and would return Sunday to play another early game.
Sunday morning found the weather had changed to a damper climate but this did not affect the boys energy. We faced off against the hometown Mitchell Meteors. Both teams played very well. After 3 periods of regular play, we headed into a sudden victory over-time period of 4 on 4. Mitchell slipped one in with only 2 minutes remaining ending the game.
All the spectators were very proud of the boys and all their efforts. Great team spirit and sportsman like play makes the game very enjoyable to watch. So thanks guys for a great weekend! We will be heading down to the big city of Ripley next weekend for the Legion sponsored tournament. Our first game is Friday November 18 at 6pm if you find yourself looking for some great minor hockey
