4 Days…4 Games…4 Wins!
The Kincardine Legion Kinucks first game of four on Thursday night against Walkerton was a blowout 9-1 for Kincardine with Ethan Primeau in net for Kincardine.

Goals were scored by Ethan long (2), Brett Burrows, Bradley Pickett, Jakob Dunlop, Kurt Dunsbier (2), Grant Stevens and Caleb Campbell. Assists by Ben Netzke, Andrew Potter, Long, Stevens, Dunsbier, Owen Jones, Andrew Leschied, Campbell, Brett Colhoun, Virat Tripathi, Raven Sharp and Pickett.

Friday night again at home the team met up with the Durham Huskies. The first period saw two goals by Andrew Potter assisted by Long and Burrows, end of 1st 2-0.

A good rush by Burrows and Long with lots of rebounds but no goal.  A penalty against Kincardine was killed and then followed by a power play for Kincardine.  The 3rd goal went to Burrows assisted by Long make it 3-0.  Nice shot by Grant Stevens makes it 4-0, assisted by Dunsbier and Pickett.

The third period had lots of action in the Durham end with a goal by Long, assisted by Colhoun making it 5-0.  Nice rebound by Andrew Leschied leads to 6-0, with assists to Campbell and Dunlop.  The 3rd goal of the period goes to Kurt Dunsbier helped by Pickett and Netzke makes it 7-0.  Durham breakaway gets one by Craig Luinstra, final 7-1.

On Saturday the team travelled to Shallow Lake to take on the Lakers. The first period had action in both ends, more in the Lakers but it's the end of the period before Potter puts one by their goalie assisted by Burrows and Long.

In the second period Long gets one in unassisted making it 2-0.  Another great rush by Burrows but no goal followed by a goal by Stevens with help from Potter. The game started to get rough and Kincardine got the first penalty which they killed followed by another one and quickly more follow.  After a 4 on 4 Kincardine had a one man advantage briefly but was unable to capitalize, end of 2nd 3-0.

In the third period during a penalty against Shallow Lake Long gets the power play goal, Potter the assist.    More questionable reffing leads to another penalty against Kincardine.  A beautiful goal by Owen Jones makes it 5-0, assisted by Tripathi.  A nice goal for Jakob Dunlop top shelf with the assist going to Colhoun.  The game ended with a penalty for Shallow Lake The shut out went to goalie Ethan Primeau.  Good job boys keeping your cool and focusing on the scoreboard.

Game four vs. Mt Forest Rams took place in Mt Forest.  The first goal went to Jones assisted by Pickett and Stevens and then a beautiful shot from the point by Netzke was tipped in by Potter making it 2-0.  Period ended with a power play for Kincardine.

The second period showcased great skating by Stevens right to the net but the shot was wide.  Nice shots by Long and Burrows were saved by the Mt Forest goalie.  Mt Forest got one by Luinstra in net on the rebound 2-1.  Kincardine got a penalty for too many men but no further scoring took place against Luinstra.  The action continued in both ends throughout the second period but no more goals.

 

At the beginning of the third period Kincardine looked a little tired and got a penalty in the first 5 minutes followed by one for Mt Forest, and a  power play goal to Owen Jones assisted by Potter, 3-1.  With their energy back the next goal to Sharpe from Burrows and Potter making it 4-1.  Great save by Luinstra keeps it that way.  Good work by Jonesy but he is denied by the Rams goalie and fabulous great passing Long to Burrows and in.  Final 5-1.

Amazing weekend fellows, great team playing by all.  The only team members who didn’t get a point were goalies Luinstra and Primeau and thanks to them for some great goaltending as well.
