For
the second time this year the team faced Mildmay Monarchs.
The first meeting was a close fought game with Kincardine winning in the final few minutes. This game started off as expected neither team dominating. With the first period almost over Kincardine opened the scoring with a scramble around goal and a determined Burrows getting on the scoreboard.
Second period saw some great action and a slap shot from Andrew Potter marked Kincardine’s 2nd goal. Kincardine’s over enthusiasm found themselves with a 2 man penalty. The defence gave a stellar display on penalty killing only allowing a single shot at goal. Kincardine now playing more confidently had some fine shots rattle the bar. 3rd goal for Kincardine came from a pass from Tripathy, to Stevens who set Picket up perfectly for a well worked goal. A short lapse in concentration allowed Mildmay a breakaway to finally get on the board near the end of the second period, score 3-1 at the break
The pep talk from the coaches must have inspired the team. The third period saw Kincardine dominate the play. In the space of 3 minutes Kincardine scored 3 times more. Colhoun’s super shot from the point made it 4. Burrows got his second from a tight angle and Long topped off the afternoons scoring to make the final score 6-1
