Busy Week for Kincardine Tim-br Mart Bantam Rep Kinucks
Article submitted by Karen Vollmer
On Saturday, October 22nd, the Durham Huskies visited the Davidson Centre in Kincardine to face our Tim-br Mart Bantam Rep team for a 7:45pm start.

Kincardine started with a couple of early penalties but still managed to snag a short handed goal from Jordan Bell assisted by Sam Culmer and Brody Hayes.  Later in the 1st, Payton Dunlop scored assisted by Hayes to make it 2-0.  Durham got a couple of penalties for roughing and tripping to give Kincardine the 5 on 3 and Geordie Farrell scored assisted by Hayes again to end the first period 3-0.  Early in the 2nd period Dunlop scored assisted by Bell to make it 4-0.   Kincardine controlled the puck most of the second half of this period.   The Kinucks had a penalty late in the 2nd but the PK was successful and good net minding by Kevin Chau kept the opponents score at nil.  Kincardine capitalized on a power play late in the 2nd when Culmer snagged another goal assisted by Bell and Hayes.  In the 3rd period, Derrick Bernath scored assisted by Austin Rees to end the game Kincardine 6, Durham 0.

On a grey and drizzly Sunday afternoon (October 23rd), the Kinucks made the long trek up north to Lions Head to take on Bruce Peninsula.  At 4 on 4 with both teams serving penalties, Payton Dunlop scored Kincardine’s first assisted by Austin Rees and Marshall Smith.  Bruce Peninsula took another penalty for checking from behind and Kincardine was on the power play again and applied good pressure but yielded no goal.  Then near the end of the first period, Austin Rees scored assisted by Smith and Derrick Bernath.  In the 2nd period Bruce Peninsula battled back with a goal scored during 4 on 4 play as well as a short handed goal to tie this hard checking game up at 2-2.  Still in the 2nd, Shane Vollmer popped in the go-ahead goal off of Bernath and Bell .  The 3rd brought more penalties for both teams but Kincardine’s PK was again successful.  An even strength goal by Bell off of Vollmer brought the score to 4-2 which the Kinucks maintained for a final score due to some great saves by Seamus Small.
