Another Winning Week for the Kincardine Bantam Reps
Article submitted by Karen Vollmer
It was Saturday, November 20th @ 5:45 pm when the Arran Elderslie Ice Dogs attended the Davidson Centre to meet our Tim-br Mart Bantam Reps.

In a fast-skating first period, there was a rash of penalties leading to Kincardine being on the penalty kill for six minutes straight.  To open up the scoring, Sam Wilson fired one in from Derrick Bernath and Shane Vollmer with just seconds left in the period.  The second period proved to be chock full of scoring, with two from Austin Rees assisted by Vollmer, one from Jordan Bell (Evan Brown, Brody Hayes), a short-handed goal from Payton Dunlop as well as a single for Vollmer from Sam Wilson.  Arran Elderslie responded with two goals in this period, one had during 5 on 3 play, ending the second with Kincardine leading 6-2.    The third brought more physical play and a few fisticuffs, but no more goals, thus Kincardine nabbed the win.

The next evening (Sunday, November 21st), Kincardine travelled to Chesley for a rematch with an 8:00 pm start.  The two teams battled it out for the first two periods and again Kincardine found themselves on the the penalty kill for much of the first period.  Jordan Bell broke the ice and picked up a goal in the first period, on a rebound from Bernath.  Going into the third period, the score was 1-0 for Kincardine but the Ice Dogs soon tied it up with a power play goal.  Bell responded with a goal from Vollmer and then the opponents tied it up again at 2-2.  Kincardine then picked up two more power play goals from Rees (Sam Wilson, Marshall Smith) and Bernath and then another near the end of the third by Logan Shewfelt from Vollmer.  Another outstanding effort by Kincardine's defence held the hungry Ice Dogs to only a few quality chances.

Final score Kincardine 5, Arran Elderslie 2 and the boys take the series!
