This weekend saw the West Shore Bantam girls travel to Stratford for the Aces tournament.
Game 1 saw the girls match up with Lower Lake rivals Mt. Forest, Colhoun got things started with a goal in the first minute going top shelf. Kincardine would add 2 more from Allen and Krulicki to make it 3-0. Mt Forest would score 2 quick goals in the third before Elliott added some insurance to make it a 4-2 final. Assists in the game went to Jolley(2), Krulicki(2), Allen, Duncan and Mangotich. Game 2 the Kinucks faced off against Milverton, The ladies opened the scoring on a good forecheck resulting in a goal by Colhoun assisted by Boyd and Krulicki. Woods and Allen would each score on the backhand to make it a 3-0 final and a shutout for Baker. Game 3 and 4 were both tight checking affairs resulting in 1-0 vctories for Kincardine over Twin Centre and Mitchell. Bowes from Statosek in the Twin Centre game and Duncan went top shelf against Mitchell for the game winning goal. Great defense from Mangotich, Duncan and Hodgins helped Baker earn her 2nd and 3rd shutout of the weekend. The championship was a rematch with Mitchell. The Kinucks wasted no time as Allen poked the face off up to Krulicki who scored just 6 seconds into the game. Allen then added to that lead on a tip off Jolley's point shot to make 2-0 after one. Mitchell then ran into penalty trouble in the last 2 periods taking 6 minors. Kincardine would add 2 more goals on a nice rush by Krulicki and a point shot from Duncan which found the top corner for a 4-0 final. Mangotich , Hodgins, Duncan and Jolley supplied steady defense as Baker recorded her 4th shutout in a row to repeat as champs at the Aces tournament. Thanks to Smith for her moral support on the weekend as she is still on the DL.
