The Jr Relics edge out Team 1
Final score 5-2 for the Jr Relics
The Jr Relics met up for an exciting game against Team #1 at the Davidson Centre on December 1st, 2012.   From the puck drop Jacob McKitterick stood strong in the Jr Relics net.

The game started off with some fast skating and end-to-end action.  Off a quick pass from Kole McCormick and Alex Colley-Aquino, Elijah Moore grabbed the puck at centre ice and made his way down to Team #1's goaltender and shot the puck just over the goalie's stick to put one home for the Jr Relics.
The period continued with some great skating by Bennett Janes who kept up his solid and dependable defensive work.  An impressive save by Jacob McKitterick stopped a great breakaway shot from Team #1's Graeden Colhoun.  The first period ended with a 1-0 lead for the Jr Relics.

Kole McCormick began the second period with some solid work on defense.  He worked hard at keeping the puck in Team #1's end to give the Jr Relics more opportunities. Lucas Watson had a great skate down the length of the ice with the puck before being stopped by Team #1's defense.  With some excellent teamwork, the two Jr Relics' defensemen were able to score a great goal!  Kole McCormick put the puck into the back of the net following a pass from Justin Shields.  The second period came to a close with an unassisted goal by Alex Colley-Aquino bringing the score up to 3-0 for the Jr Relics.

The third period saw a flurry of five goals scored.  The period started off fast with an early goal by Team #1's Tyler Johns.   Charlie Hall-Elwood answered back by firing home the puck in an unassisted goal for the Jr Relics.  The Relics continued to put the skills they've honed in practice to work.  They worked hard at clearing the puck and consistently using the boards to help keep the puck away from their opposition.   Despite these hard fought attempts, Team #1's Jake Wall was able to break through and slide the puck into the net.  The effort on the part of the whole team showed again as Kole McCormick scored his second of the game with an assist by Kennedy Urie and Elijah Moore.

Congratulations Jr Relics on a well-deserved win!  With a final score of 5-2 the Jr Relics secured their second win of the season.  Great work by Kole McCormick and congratulations on receiving the Hardwork Helmet!  Congratulations also go to both Kole McCormick and Elijah Moore on scoring their first goals of their Novice hockey careers!
