Kincardine Kinucks 9 - Minto Mad Dogs 0

Following an emphatic victory against the West Grey Huskies, on Thursday night, the Kincardine Kinucks continued their winning streak over the weekend.

If the dogs in Minto were already mad, they'd have been absolutely furious once the Kinucks had delivered a 9-0 scoreline on Saturday afternoon. In truth, Kincardine were just too strong in this match up, and Minto had to rely upon a strong performance from their goalie, Tristen Friedrich, to keep the score down.

The most encouraging thing from the Kincardine Kinucks performance was the fact that the entire team is beginning to contribute offensively, taking some of the burden from the prolific Noah Swann. Goalscorers in the Minto game were: Kwade Biesel; Quinton Page; Carson Fletcher; Noah Page; Jesse Page (2) and Noah Swann (3). The assists in this game, went to: Cam Fletcher; Noah Swann; Sam MacTavish (2) and Cody McClelland (2).

This would be the platform for Jesse Page to collect his first goals to-date providing, arguably, his best performance of the season. He would also earn the Kincardine hardest working player award.

Carson `Teddy` Fletcher would also notch his first goal of the season, against Minto. For me, the most impressive thing about this, was not simply the goal, but the fact that he had back checked the length of the ice to prevent a Minto attack, only moments before going to the other end and scoring!

During this game, the ``D-Man`` Holden Stevenson unveiled the Christmas gift that all of the kids will want. He was obviously playing with some sort of `magic stick` since all he had to do was simply place it in front of any Minto shot and it would miraculously block every puck that came his way. He continued to pluck shots from the air over and over, again. An excellent overall display from Stevenson.

Coach Greg Tanner was most pleased about the manner in which the team accepted this victory. There was no show boating or arrogance as these young men ran up a fairly high score. ``That is how you should conduct yourself, because you can be sure that you will be on the receiving end of a similar result, at some point in your career`` the coach told his players.
