Falcons wings clipped..
Hanover Falcons 2 - Kincardine Kinucks 3.

Prior to heading on his 'Crocodile Dundee' walkabout down under, Noah Page was obviously intent on leaving his team with a lasting impression before his departure. He had been amongst the goals and penalties the previous day, against Minto. Possibly inspired by the Australian ACDC intro music, this would prove to be no different as he put on a high energy display, which again resulted in him having to spend some 'alone time' in the penalty box. That said, there is another theory that he is looking to overtake his defensive partner Cam 'Chara' Fletcher, in the penalty minute totals!

Knowing that Page would soon be out of the country and unavailable, coach Greg Tanner drafted in the smooth skating forward Caydence Gibson, into the Kinucks line up.

The Kinucks certainly weren't slow out of the blocks for this one. With only 27 seconds gone they had a 2-0 lead, thanks to Noah Swann. The sniper Swann scored almost identical goals from the face off as he stick handled through the Falcons team, putting his team ahead.

Considering recent results and a red-hot start, you could have been fooled into thinking that this was going to be another convincing victory for the Kinucks. I must confess that I was thinking this way, but the Hanover Falcons came back strongly.

At the end of the second period the scores were tied at 2-2 and this was proving to be more of a challenge than possibly first thought. In truth, the Kinucks had somewhat relaxed and allowed Hanover back into the game, not to take anything away from a talented Falcons team.

The crowd were beginning to get a little nervous as the third period wore on. The Falcons had certainly focused on closing down Noah Swann following his electric start, with some success. However, they could only contain the centreman for so long. Finally, he got his break through and that is all he needed to make it 3-2 Kinucks. This is how the game would remain.

Kincardine's hardest working player would go to league debutant Caydence Gibson. A well deserved award for the talented Gibson.

The Kincardine Kinucks remain top of their division, unbeaten following five games. A great effort by all and an ever growing hard work ethic, for this team.
