Bruce Telecom Bantam LL2 Continues Promising Play
Kincardine Bruce Telecom Bantam LL2 played their second home game of the season in Tiverton against the Ripley Wolves on Saturday 27Oct2012.  The team continues to execute the game plan of passing with authority and making the pass to the open player in front of the net with great results, another 3-1 victory.

The Ripley Wolves started with a roar, scoring 2 minutes into the first with lots of early pressure on Kincardine’s defense.  The defensive pairings of Hogan Allen and Rahul Deshpande, and Brendan Arciszewski and Corbyn Fields maintained good position forcing shots from bad angles.  A late period penalty by Ripley saw the momentum of the game swing Kincardine’s way, with a flurry of shots to finish the period.

In the second period, Kincardine continued the pressure and were rewarded 6 minutes in when Riley Cherrett centred a crisp pass to Owen Fohkens in the slot.  Fohkens made no mistake tying up the game.  The pace of the game picked up with both teams trading opportunities.  With no one able to score, the teams headed into the dressing rooms for the flood, tied.

The third period continued where the second left off with more end to end action.  Alex Pande made several key saves to keep Kincardine in the game.  Kincardine finally broke through on an individual effort by Fohkens.  With his line-mates heading for a change, Fohkens carried the puck through centre ice and muscled his way into Ripley’s end, finishing with a wrist shot that found the corner.  As the game wound down, Ripley pulled their goalie in an effort to tie the game.  Kincardine managed to get the puck into the Ripley end, hemming them in for 30 seconds before a nice three-way passing play freed up Cherrett to put the puck into the empty net.  Assists went to Allen and Jacob Gordon.  Careful defensive play for the last minute assured Kincardine of the 3-1 victory.
