Bruce Telecom Bantam LL2 Does Just Enough for the Victory
Bruce Telecom Kincardine Bantam LL2 hosted the North Bruce Predators at the Davidson Centre on Sunday 18Nov2012 after two away games.  Kincardine was looking to start a new winning streak after a successful outing in Southampton the day before.  The team was looking to build on the positives and eliminate the negatives.

The first period started off slowly for the home side, but Alex Pande was up to the task in the net turning away all 8 shots he faced.  Kincardine struggled generating offense and only managed 3 shots on net and one very close miss created on a pass off to the side of the crease from Owen Fohkens to a wide open Jamie Perrault who just missed the net.

After a quick pep talk from Coach Fohkens at the bench after the first, Kincardine started to pick up the pace in the second period.  Two and a half minutes in, Rahul Deshpande held the blue line and found some time to tee one up that found the back of the net through traffic.  North Bruce didn’t role over and continued to fire shots at Pande who turned away another 12 in the second.  Kincardine managed to score another with two minutes left when Hogan Allen hit Brady Masur flying up centre ice.  Masur beat the lone defencemen but fell to his knees, got a shot off and then somehow managed to get hold of the rebound while still on his knees and shovel the puck through the goalie into the net for Kincardine’s second of the period.

The break between the second and third period gave Coach Fohkens the opportunity to refocus the troops.  The game plan was to beat the opposition with speed and passing, something that only fleetingly appeared in the second period and not at all in the first.  Kincardine responded to the challenge with an excellent third period with a handful of quality scoring chances and sustained pressure in North Bruce’s end of the ice.  Although no goals were scored, Kincardine finally executed the game plan and dominated the play.  Pande made another 8 stops for the shut-out win.
