Wingham Ironmen 3 - Kincardine Kinucks 6

The Canadian Tire sponsored Kincardine Atom Kinucks maintained their winning streak in preparation for the upcoming Regional Silverstick. These latest wins brought the team up to nine consecutive victories.

Starting with a hard fought 6-2 home ice victory over an excellent Mount Forest Rams team. The Kinucks would have to skate hard to claim the 'W'. The prolific Noah Swann would notch 4 goals in this game, while Quinton Pagé picked up another. The most notable goal of the evening came from Holden Stevenson, breaking a three year scoring drought, as the D-Man rifled in the first goal of the game from the blue line.

A few other players earning a mention were those providing assists namely; Cody McLelland, Carson 'Teddy' Fletcher and Jared Houghton. It would also be wrong to miss Ryan Tanner in the Kincardine goal. Once again, he would put in a sparkling performance.

Next up was a trip North to local rivals, the Saugeen Shores Storm. The Kinucks would fall behind early in this one, trailing 3-0 at the first interval. Strangely, the Kinucks have fallen behind in most games this season, despite their impressive win record. Credit to the ever improving Storm who had came out fast and were forechecking hard. However, this seemed to be just the wake up call the Kinucks needed. The Kinucks hardworking forecheck got going and Kincardine would blast five unanswered goals in the second period, ultimately running out with the 6-3 win.
Scorers against Saugeen Shores were: Carson Fletcher (2), Quinton Pagé (2), Cody McClelland (1+1) and Noah Swann, with assists going to Sam MacTavish (2) and Alex Colley-Aquino.

The final game before the Silverstick would be against the Wingham Ironmen, who top their respective division. The Kinucks picked up the win against a talented Wingham team. Goals would again flow from Noah Swann who produced a dazzling offensive display, with 4 goals and 1 assist. Carson Fletcher would also make his regular contribution with a goal, while Holden Stevenson tallied another assist. Cam 'Chara' Fletcher would wrap up the Kinucks scoring as he chipped in with 1 goal and 1 assist, his goal being a bullet wrist shot into the top left hand corner, as he skated in over the blue line.

It's important that the kids keep their feet firmly on the ground, but they are certainly hopeful of making a good account of themselves in next weeks Silverstick Tournament.
