The Kinucks continued to show off their offense during their
weekend home and home.
Saturday Dec 13th saw the Capitals in our barn first. Prepared
to battle the Capitals worked hard to try and give the Kinucks their first loss
of the year.
Both goalies were to thank for a scoreless first despite many
scoring chances by both teams.
With Huge assists, Brooklyn C and Hannah gave
Brooklyn M the chance to open the flood gates of scoring for the Kinucks. Chloe quickly followed up, with a beauty of a
goal. Chloe’s amazing stick handling and a long end to end rush, allowed her to
light the lamp unassisted. A hat trick from Brooklyn M, and goals from Paige M
and Kennedy F gave the Kinucks The 6-0 shutout.
On Sunday Dec 14th the Capitals were hungry for redemption and were not giving up so easy, winning the first face off, Walkerton rushed up the ice and out skated the Kinucks, firing a shot at Vana, But Vana was ready and wasnt giving up her shutout streak that easy. Paige M regained control of the puck and lit the lamp unassisted, changing the momentum of the game, giving Kincardine the edge.
In the second, another unassisted goal from Paige M put the Peewees up by two heading into the third.
The third Period saw two goals from Kennedy F and a goal from Brooklyn M for a final of 5-0, despite the scoreboard the Capitals gave some competition to the Peewees, with hard battles along the boards, and some stellar net minding.
The girls are headed to South Bruce on Dec 20th to defend their title.
