MTC Atom LL1 Kinucks vs. Lucknow Sepoys
On Sunday January 18th the Kincardine MTC Computer Atom LL1 Kinucks had the opportunity to avenge an earlier 2-0 loss to the Lucknow Sepoys at the Tiverton Sports Center.

1st period action started a bit slowly but Lucknow began to force play into the Kincardine zone. A scramble in front of the Kincardine goal resulted in the puck popping out in front of the open side of the net but Ryan Bytheway saved the day just beating Preston Eadie of the Sepoys to the loose puck and clearing the zone.  The continued pressure forced a number of good saves from goaltender Nathan Desmond and some solid defense from Isaiah Wencel and Adam Nasime in particular.  The Kinucks were starting to get their share of offensive zone play as the period wore on including a nice passing play between Charlie Hall-Elwood and Bryan Nicholson forcing a nice leg save from Carson McNeil in the Sepoy goal.  McKenna Thomson and Kyla Moffat got away for Lucknow and a last second pass from Kyla to McKenna forced Jason to kick across the goal to rob the girls of a sure goal.  Play started to go end to end when Liam Hunter stole the puck from the Lucknow defense in their own zone and just missed on the short side.  The Sepoys sent the puck back up the ice and Owen Dalton got loose on the right side and was able to score on a low shot to open the scoring late in the period.  Off the ensuing faceoff, Kyla Moffat tried her luck around the right side but Owen Kirk challenged her and forced a week shot wide as the period ended.

Lucknow got things going right away at the start of the 2nd period when Owen Dalton again came around the right side and, using Carson Sillib as a decoy, slipped another low shot in on the short side.  Kincardine began to dominate play at this point but were unable to convert on some good shots from Cole Price and Lucas Watson with Thomas Ostrowski and Ryan Bytheway holding the puck in at the line on several occasions.  When Lucknow was finally able to break out Carson Sillib got in on his own but Jason Desmond spread himself out and made the stop.  When the Kinucks were unable to clear the zone Treyton Stanley picked up the loose puck and fired a hard shot from the left side which Jason was able to get his stick on but it just caught the corner to increase the Sepoy lead to 3-0. Late in the period Stanley dug the puck out of a scramble from behind the net and put it in front and Owen Dalton knocked in his 3rd before anyone could react.

Despite a hard effort the Kinucks found themselves down 4-1 heading to the 3rd period.  They responded with a good start and kept the puck in the Sepoy zone for most of the early going.  Mitchell Hackett won a face on the left and put the puck hard on goal and Liam Hunter jumped all over the rebound to score the Kinucks first.  Kincardine continued to win most of the battles until Owen Dalton was able to out-battle Owen Kirk and Victor Cox at the Lucknow line and broke in alone to put his 4th of the game into the top corner to round out the scoring at 5-1.
