The Walkerton Capitals hosted the Girls
tonight in another lightning-speed game.
This game would cover both ends of the ice and there would be several
exchanges over control over the puck.
This game provided another opportunity for the Girls to force plays. The Capitals would keep the puck moving; with
no time to wait for a play the Girls were forced to find opportunities to
intercept.
In the first period, the Girls worked each side of the ice and searched for opportunities to take shots on the Capital’s goal. But the Capitals would work just as hard to make sure it didn’t happen. The first period would end without any score.
It was late in the second period when Makayla Fyke would score with an assist from Parker Talbot. Shortly after, Parker Talbot would score the Kinuck’s second goal with an assist from Kayla Rumbold.
The third period wasn’t any slower. Half-way into the third, Sophie Rock, would catch a nice breakaway to score the Game’s final goal. This was a tough game, but the Girls have been working hard, seeing results, and confidence is truly blooming in all players. The Capitals are a strong competitor for the Kinucks and all of the girls have a great time playing against this team. The games are fast, challenging, and keep Chloe warm. Final score for the Kinucks, 3:0.
Great game!!
