On Jan 23rd both Kincardine Atom teams played one another.
Both teams were excited to face each other, and the energy was high. The first period was a fast paced period with Kincardine #1's goalie Rahul Deshpande saving a few shots dished out from #2. Though those few shots made it by #1's defense made up of Corbyn Fields, Matthew Johnston, and Alex Fisk who did a great job, keeping many of those pucks away from Rahul. The first period went by without any goals from either Kincardine teams.
The second period Owen Jones scored Kin #1's first goal assisted by JD Gouthro, and Hayley Sorbara, making it 1-0. The second goal came near the middle of the second period from Andrew Leschied, assisted by Georgia Fields
making it 2-0. Great second period, for Kincardine #1.
In the third Kincardine #2 sunk one early on in the period from Chris Pierce, putting them on the board 2-1. Brady Masur and Sam Colqhoun tried to tag team for a chance on net. Then Hayley sorbara, and J.D. Gouthro played some tricky offence trying to keep their team ahead. Then Andrew Leschied scored another assisted by Corbyn Fields making it 3-1 for kincardine #1. Kincardine's Alex Fisk and Matthew Johnston kept up great defense, and near the end of the last period Owen Jones finalized the game with one last goal, securing the win, with a final score of 4-1 for Kincardine #1. Great job team.
