And it was a good night as the Kinucks pulled off a 4-2 win to lead five points to one in the series, having won two games and tied one.

Written by Barry Culmer After a three week break following their semi-final sweep of Strathroy, the Kincardine Legion Peewee Kinucks opened up their OMHA Final series at home against the Wasaga Stars on Saturday 20 March. Eager for some hockey, the boys attacked from the start and built a two goal lead by mid period, both goals coming from unassisted slap shots by Garrett MacFadden. Written by Barry Culmer The Legion Peewee Kinucks great season continued over the weekend when they swept the Strathroy Junior Rockets in the OMHA semi-finals.  On Friday 26 February they made a snowy journey to Strathroy for the opening game against the Junior Rockets who they had beaten in the International Silver Stick Finals. After a close first period with good work in net by Joey Doyle and strong penalty killing by Kincardine holding the score at 0-0, Strathroy jumped into a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the second. Written by Barry Culmer Having already finished top of the standings in regular season play, the Kincardine Legion Peewee Kinucks are now WOAA champions, beating arch rivals the Listowel Cyclones by three games to one in the final play down best of five. With the series tied at one game apiece, each team winning away from home, the Kinucks looked to get an advantage on home ice on Wednesday, February 17.
