by Maria Riggin
Well folks, there is a lot to report on so the play by play action will be kept to the barest minimum for your sake! Here is the Reader’s Digest version of the past couple of weeks. Kincardine remains undefeated in regular season play.

On November 25 the Old Stars played in Teeswater and came up on the winner end with a final score of 9-3. Scoring for the Old Stars were: Jesse Hall, Jordan Bell (Hat trick), Jason McDonnell, Logan Shewfelt, Marcel Fohkens (2) and Brent MacDonald. Assisting the goals were: Shewfelt, Bell, goalie Kevin Chau, Aidan Calcutt, Fohkens and Hall. Chau and Seamus Small in net.

November 28th saw Kincardine host Seaforth for the best league match thus far this season. Tons of excitement at this one!! Scoring for the Bantam Old Stars were Shewfelt, Ryan Swift, Bell, McDonnell, Fohkens (2), Scott Smith and Geordie Farrell with 2. The assists were awarded to McDonald, Fohkens, Shewfelt (2), Swift and Ryan Ball. Chau and Brad Liddle shared net minding duties. Final Score: 8-3 for K-Town.

Just in case there was any concern about parents not having enough excitement in their evenings, the team played in Harriston on November 29th. With Liddle and Small in the net, Kincardine had another decisive win. Old Star goals were scored by Shewfelt (hat track), McDonnell (2), Calcutt (2), Bell (2) and Brendan McCartney. Serving up the assists were: Smith, Farrell (2), Swift, Shewfelt, Bell (4), McDonnell, McCartney and Calcutt (3). Final Tally: Kincardine 10, Harriston 6.

The Old Stars played in the Tiverton Tournament on Friday and Saturday past. Game 1 saw Kincardine play Saugeen Shores. Liddle was between the posts for this one. Kincardine dominated the play and racking up the goals were: Shewfelt, Farrell, McDonald (hat trick), Bell (hat trick), McDonnell (hat trick), Calcutt (hat trick), McCartney and Fohkens. The Mount Brydges game proved to be much more exciting. Seamus Small was the net minder for this one. Bell and McDonald scored 2 a piece with McDonnell and Hall setting up Bell and Smith assisting on both of McDonald’s goals. 4-1 Old Stars.

We then found a reason to eat humble pie! In an excellent game, Kincardine came up short and lost 2-1 to our neighbours to the north. Scott Smith, unassisted, raced up from his defensive position to pop one between the pipes. Chau did his level best in net

The final game gave the bragging rights to Tiverton. The Old Stars lost the Championship game 7-1. Deshpande had a superb unassisted rush from the Kincardine blue line and knocked in Kincardine’s only goal. Congratulations to the Tiverton Bantams. It was especially nice to see the excellent sportsmanship demonstrated by both teams. Santa likes to see that!

Not having had enough hockey on the weekend, Kincardine hosted the Goderich Sailors on Sunday evening. The Old Stars were back on their game. Small and Chau in net. Calcutt (2), McDonnell, McDonald and Bell scored for Kincardine and were ably assisted By: Shewfelt (3), McDonnell (2) Bell, Swift and Calcutt.
