Port Dover Tournament Finalists
The Kincardine Tim-br Mart Bantam team made the trip to Port Dover for their first tournament of the season.

The Bantam team faced off against Delhi for their first game of the tournament.  Chase Ambeau scored late in the 1st period with a shot from the point, assists going to Derrick Bernath and David McFarlan.  Adding to the scoreboard in the 2nd period was Michael Osadca, unassisted; Dallas Hewitt, assisted by Carter Strachan / Riley Cook; and Derrick Bernath, unassisted.  Delhi was able to score late in the 2nd to bring the score 4 to 1 going into the 3rd.  Riley Cook scored a goal midway through the 3rd period, assists going to Mitch Burrows and Ambeau for a final score of 5 to 1 for Kincardine.

Kincardine's second game was against a much tougher Port Dover team.  Port Dover was the first to score late in the 1st period and midway through the 2nd.  Kincardine pulled within 1 goal with Osadca scoring late in the 2nd, assists going to Mark McLelland and Mitch Burrows.  The 3rd period proved to be a real nail biter with Hewitt waiting to score the tying goal with only 36 seconds left in the game, assisted by Bernath.  The final score of 2 - 2 truly reflected what an even game it was.

The boys' third game proved to be another tough challenge when they met a very confident Blenheim team.  Once again, Kincardine's oppostion were the first to score early in the 1st but they were able to tie it up two minutes later with a well place shot by Matt Baker, assists going to Osadca and Strachan.  Blenheim was able to score two more goals, one midway throught the 1st and the other early in the 3rd.  Strachan's unassisted goal midway through the 3rd seemed to energize the Tim-br Mart team and had Blenheim trying to defend their one goal lead for the rest of the period.  Hewitt netted the tying goal with just over a minute to go with a pass from Cook.  With a win and two ties, Kincardine was headed to the championship finals against Blenheim on Sunday.

After an eventful night at the hotel with our good friend Robert on the front desk, Kincardine skated onto the ice missing a few players because of sickness and injuries.  The 1st period proved to be another tight game with neither team able to score and it wasn't until just over a minute left in the 2nd that Blenheim netted one past Kincardine's goalie.  Not to be outdone, less than 20 seconds later Strachan tied it up after a pass from Ambeau.  Unfortunately, Blenheim scored midway through the 3rd and with 10 seconds left, Blenheim's Jeff Britton let his stick do the talking and was able to deke out the empty net on a breakaway for a final score of 3 to 1 for Blenheim.
