The Canadian Tire Atom Reps are off to a great start this season. Adding to their success, the Atoms finished their weekend games with two wins and a tie.

First, Kincardine traveled to Mildmay Thursday night and with the strong work of Darian Kuz, the game finished in a 2-2 tie. Kuz scored both Kincardine goals unassisted.

On Saturday, Kincardine traveled to Durham to take on the Huskies. Down 1-0 going into the third, Ryan Thede scored the Canucks first goal with an assist going to Bryce McFadden.

The game was very fast paced with quick line changes and aggressive play. Emma Swift played very tough on defense, even earning a cross-check to the head!

The game-winning goal came from rookies Travis Anderson with the assist going to Body Hewitt. Down a man with just a couple minutes left in the third, Jake Colley scored the games final goal putting the Huskies on ice. This was clearly the Atoms best game of the season so far and would provide the motivation and confidence going into Sunday’s match up with Minto.

Just one week previous the Minto Mad Dogs pounded the Atoms in a 7-2 game. Bolstered by their recent strong play, however, the Atoms were a much different team on Sunday. The Atoms took their revenge with a 3-2 victory! Goal scorers were Jacob Bishop, Ryan Thede and Darin Kuz

The Atoms are happy to have Coach Mike McDonald returning with two new assistant coaches – Mark Smith and Jason Reid.
