Brock Records Shut-Out in Atom Rep Win
Jamie Brock led the Canadian Tire Atom Reps to their 11th win of season with another shut-out against Shallow Lake on Sunday night.

The Atoms had an early morning skate where the coaching staff worked on the team’s use of the point. The athletes responded by scoring four goals in the game with shots that started from the point. Wingers passed the puck to the open point and from there they used d-to-d passes to spread the Shallow Lake skaters.

Kara Colhoun scored the game-winning goal just three minutes into the first period with an assist going to Travis Anderson. The Atoms applied a lot of pressure but didn’t score again until the second where Darian Kuz opened the scoring followed by Ryan Thede and Bryce McFadden.

Jake Colley potted two in the third and Kendon Zettle finished the scoring. Assists went to Thede, McFadden, Anderson, Jacob Bishop and Brody Hewitt.

Matthew Morrison set the tone for a tough game with a slightly aggressive body-check which found him sitting all alone in the “sin” bin. Morrison was later followed to the bin by Austin MacArthur, hooking; Chris Coady, high-sticking; Brennan Long, slashing; and Hewitt rounded out the five pack of calls with a tripping. After seeing such a variety of penalties, this reporter wondered if the boys had a watched a re-run of Slapshot!  We can only hope they felt “shame” as they sat out their two minutes.
