Co-operators defeat Lucknow
The Co-operators took on Lucknow for the first time this season in a hard fought game on Sunday.
The Co-operators, possibly still recuperating from New Years celebrations, had a bit of a slow start in the first period. Lucknow came out strong and scored on a rebound early in the game. By the beginning of the second it was obvious the Co-operators had woken up and Justin's fantastic breakaway landed them on the score board early in the second. Minutes later Justin took the puck to net again scoring his second goal of the game. Lucknow sought to come back during a one man advantage but Laura and Ryan kept the pressure in Lucknow's end during the majority of the penalty kill. As the third period commenced Justin earned a hat trick with his third goal of the game.
Despite some stellar defensive play by Julia, Lucknow was able to sneak one more goal in the middle of the third. Conner answered back with a hard shot that saw the Co-operators win by a score of 4-2. Way to go!
