High flying Atom Rep Kinucks Ready
The Canadian Tire Atoms Rep team had little time for a rest  after Friday’s opening season win, they had to prepare for the tough Walkerton team. Well our legs were a little tired and the passes were quite crisp

but coach Curtis and Mark kept inspiring the boys and girls to keep digging and want the puck. William was in net and made a number of good saves to hold us at 0-0. Walkerton’s persistence finally paid off and blew one passed William. We needed something to get us going and Liam from a couple of nice passes, put us on the board and tied it up. After some back and forth skating by both teams, Walkerton found the back of the net again and that finished the 1st period 2-1 Walkerton. Well the coaches must of added some energy drinks to their water bottles or gave them a super pep talk, because we came out flying. Alyssa fired a goal past the Walkerton goalie, set up from Griffin and Zach. Then Liam tickled the twine up high from Brennan and Brody. Meanwhile William was steering aside everything Walkerton sent his way. Still in the second, the Canadian Tire Kinucks kept driving to the net and with Kaleb and Carson holding the Zone, more chances were had by Ryan, Travis, Kendon, and Mattie. But it was Brennan who got a pass from William and raced down the ice to fire a snapper past the goalie for a 4-2 lead. That’s the way the second period ended. Now the big question could the coaches keep the kids inspired and energy going? Yep, they came out rolling again and it didn’t take long to light up the score board, as Zach Let fly a laser from Griffin and Alyssa. Then after some end to end rushes by both teams, Brody got a lucky bounce right on his stick and sent a knuckle ball that eluded the Walkerton goalie. 6-2. Our defence kept William safe with Kaleb, Mattie, Brennan, and Carson working well together and the puck out of our Zone. Near the end of the 3rd, Griffin scored from Zach and Liam to end the scoring. Final score Kinucks 7 Walkerton 2. Great start to the season, but the highly touted Mitchell team is next Saturday.        Written by:Jeff Renaud
