Tillsonburg Tournament results Oct 21-23, 2011
Game#1 Kincardine Bantam Rep vs. West Lorne Comets.
3-2 win for Kincardine in OT.
It was a late start to the scheduled 8:45pm game for the Kincardine boys, ushered in by the sounds of orange and black cowbells from the excited Kincardine fans.

The format of the games in this tourney were 10-10-10 stop time periods.  The play seemed even in the first period with our boys perhaps off to a slow start.  There were chances but we couldn't seem to capitalize on them.  West Lorne got on the board first at 7:53 when they managed to slide one by Craig Luinstra.
The second period saw the Kinucks tying up the game with a goal by Cole Lamont assisted by Ethan Long and Grant Stevens.  Into the third and still no penalties had been called; this was short-lived however, and Kincardine was on the power play one minute in.  We took advantage of it when Sam Culmer buried a loose puck from Shane Vollmer and Marshall Smith to make the score 2-1.
Kincardine was applying good pressure in the third, but the Comets managed to score at 4:07 when they got in close to the net, to tie the game at 2-2.  The third period ended with the score remaining at 2-2 and Kincardine down a man, due to a penalty, for 34 more seconds.  The tie breaker format started with a five minute period of 4 on 4 and the ability to only "change on the fly"; however it started out as 4 on 3 due to our residual penalty.  It was an exciting five minutes which included a penalty shot for Evan Brown and extremely winded players almost begging to get off the ice.  Vollmer finally ended the overtime when he picked up the puck at centre ice and went looking for a shot and found one through the five hole, ending the game with a 3-2 win.

Game #2 - Sautrday - Kincardine Banta Rep vs. Prince Edward County.
6-0 win for Kincardine.
Up against a stronger team, the Kincardine players raised their level of play.  Started off by a goal from Scott McFarlan, Sheldon McBride picked up 4 goals of his own  to pick up a natural hat trick plus one, followed by the finishing touch by Shane Vollmer.
Assists went to Smith, Brown, Brett Burrows and McFarlan, while Dalton Regier enjoyed a shut-out.  Based on points the boys earned a "bye" to the finals on Sunday.

Game#3 - Final - Kincardine Bantam Rep vs. Listowel Cyclones.
3-2 win for Listowel.
Playing against our division rival, Listowel always proves to be exciting and this game was no exception.  Kincardine killed off a penalty and failed to capitalize on the power play before Ethan Long opened up the scoring at 5:38 with a goal from the point, assist going to Stevens.  Listowel answered that one at 7:52 tying the game at 1.
The goalies switched halfway through with Luinstra starting and Regier finishing.  Late in the second Kincardine had a ton of trouble getting the puck out of thier end and finally at 1:53 the Cyclones took the lead.
In the third period, Lisotwel took two consecutive penalties and after much ado about the clock Kincardine was able to tie up the game on a 5 on 3 when Cole Lamont scored from Smith.
Unfortunately the boys were unable to hold on and Listowel scored with 3:43 left making the score 3-2 which ended up as the final.  Shots on goal were 17 for Listowel, 13 for Kincardine.
The Kinucks will be facing BCH and Listowel again this weekend and will be looking to even the score then!
