A New Season For the Tim-Br Mart Bantams
The Kincardine Tim-Br Mart Bantam Rep team has become an area team for the 2011-12 season with players drawn from Ripley and Tiverton as well as Kincardine...

The roster includes two goaltenders, Craig Luinstra and Dalton Regier, along with twelve skaters - Evan Brown, Brett Burrows, Sam Culmer, Dalton Hayes, Cole Lamont, Ethan Long, Scott McFarlan, Sheldon McBride, Tyson Rutledge, Marshall Smith, Grant Stevens and Shane Vollmer.  Affiliated players are Brendan Murchie, Corey Howse, Owen Jones, Jacob Dunlop and Matt Pollock.
The coaching staff for the team is Mark Smith (Coach), Shawn Burrows (Assistant Coach), Matt Smith (Trainer), Derrick Burrows (Manager) and Jo McFarlan (Assistant Manager).

The first face off of the regular season saw the Kinucks host the Walkerton Capitals on 13 October.  The boys created many chances in an impressive opening first perod but could only convert one, with Culmer scoring from Lamont and Vollmer, before the Capitals equalized.  Kincardine scored twice in the second period from McBride, assisted by McFarlan and Vollmer on the power play.  A deflection pulled one back for Walkerton to keep them in touch at 3-2 going into the third.  McFarlan put Kincardine ahead 4-2 in the third before Walkerton grabbed a power play goal to bring it back to 4-3.  Another unassisted goal from Vollmer finally gave Kincardine the 5-3 win.

Another home game on 16 October had the BCH Ice Dogs visiting.  The Kinucks killed off an early penalty but fell behnid on another before Stevens responded less than a minuter later, assisted by Vollmer.  Smith then scored before the break, again assisted by Vollmer.  A lone marker in the second from Burrows, assisted by McFarlan, and a fourth quarter way into the third period from McFarlan, assisted by Culmer and Brown, had the Kinucks cruising at 4-1.  But the Ice Dogs still had a bark and pulled back two goals in an exciting end to the period with Kincardine playing out to a 4-3 win.

After a game against Saugeen Shores on 17 October the team heads to Tillsonburg for a tournament next weekend.
