KINCARDINE — The Black Attack ran its record to a perfect 4-0 with a 2-1 victory against Green Saturday at the Davidson Centre.
Bryan Nicholson came up huge in net for the Green squad, making several key saves as the Attack kept steady pressure on its opponent, while Nathan Arnold, in net for Black, was strong as well in this low-scoring affair.
Casey Beisel opened the scoring early in the first period for the Attack, stealing the puck and streaking in to beat Nicholson. Black made it 2-0 late in the first when Andrew McKay dug the puck out of the corner and got it to David Ulak, who fired it home.
The game remained tight through the second and third periods with Black Attack defenders Gabby Legge, McKenna Brown, Tony Chen and Lucas Bronkhorst thwarting the Green offence.
Jake Wall finally solved Arnold with just more than a minute to play to spoil the shutout bid.
