Kincardine Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks Fail to move to International Silver Stick
The Kincardine Canadian tire Atom Kinucks played their hearts out over the past week but were unable to advance to the Finals and ultimately the International Finals at the Wingham Regional Silver Stick over the past week.
Last weekend the Kinucks tied Goderich 2-2 with goals by Kaleb Smith and Jordan Beisel. Assist on the Beisel goal went to Nolan MacKinnon.
This past Thursday, the Kinucks were unable to the Mount Forest Goalie and lost to the Mount Forest Rams 3-0.
Saturday the CT atom Boys faced-off with the Twin Center Stars for their 3rd and final game of the round Robin. The Kinucks fell behind 1-0 after the first period but continued to battle into the second. Twin Center scored a second in the 1st minute of the second, before Jordan Beisel cut the lead to one moments later on a nice feed from Nolan MacKinnon. TC would add another midway through period then Darcy Scott scored from the point on a shot that had eyes as it deflected off a couple Stars players before entering the net. Twin Center would ice the game with a couple more in the third making the final 5-2.
“The Boys played competitively throughout the tournament”’ Head Coach Jeff Scott stated,” By far the best game the team played was the Twin Center game. The team remained focused and never stopped playing until the final buzzer. That is my goal as a coach, not just to win but to compete and show your best. The Boys should be proud of how they played”.
The Kinucks will be back in action on Thursday evening when they will host the Ripley Wolves in an exhibition game at the Davidson Center. The Canadian Tire Boys will also Travel to Mount Forest on Sunday afternoon and will play for some redemption as they will face the Mount Forest Rams, game time 2:00pm
