The Kincardine Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks were in action Thursday night in an exhibition game against the Ripley Wolves at the Davidson Centre.
Ripley's Andrew Gibson opened the scoring only 1:38 in to the first period when he banged in his own rebound. Kincardine's Nolan MacKinnon tied the game three minutes later on a beautiful goal, assisted by Mitch Pyke. This goal seemed to spark the Kinucks and they took the lead early in the second period on a goal by Jordan Beisel with Nolan MacKinnon and Darcy Scott assisting. The score remained 2-1 with both teams getting chances until Andrew Gibson scored his second of the night to tie the game mid-way through the third period. The game would end in a 2-2 deadlock in what proved to be a very entertaining and closely contested match. The Kinucks skated hard and all lines deserve mention in earning a tie against a tough Ripley team. Jordan Beisel would be named hardest working player of the game.
The Kincardine Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks next game is this weekend when they visit the Mount Forest Rams on Sunday at 2:00pm.
