The excitement builds like storm clouds gathering outside for the show down at the Shiverton arena.As the visiting Ice Hawks,ventured south and the first sign of winter enters Bruce County.IT seems after last week's loss to the Kincardine Lakeside Chevrolet/Gm team at the BAyshore arena,Ice Hawks were back for more.
Early in the second minute of play Areil Luinstra got possession of the puck deep in the Kincardine end,she broke out from the blue line,up thru traffic around what seemed to be the whole ice.Ice Hawks team to take a shot on the goal.However the OWen SOund goalie was ready to take her on,some how she managed to make the save and stop the intimating defenseman,shutting down Aeril's rush.The rest of the period was played back and forth with the puck spending most of the time in the ice HAwk;s end.Owen Sound goalie kept the hawk in the game.
Kincardine Lakeside Chec starts the second period with a flurry of shots by ALexis ,Faith and Daniella.Finally the first amazing goal began with an incredible pass from defenseman Julia McGregor right of the stick of Libby Fletcher.Libby stick handled the puck up to the Ice Hawks net and made the shot....bang the puck hit the back of the net,the whistle went,the fan's and players went crazy in the stands and in the box.The Owen Sound Ice HAwks were on the run.The nnext 2:08 was all just madness.The Owen Sound Ice HAwks team would not let one goal bring them down.They tried to defend their goal.However,the lakeside team would not rest with only one goal on the the Hawks score board.Just like the LAys potato chips"bet you cant just get one"I think everyone knows once you get started you cant stop so we just had to get three more goals and guess who got two of those goals Ariel Luinstra assited by Faith Catalan and Daniella Mckitterick.Follow by Kayleigh Heydon assisted by Areil Luinstra.
Again the scoring chances in the first two minutes of the third period began with another rush by whom else but #11 Ariel Luinstra and ended with an unassited goal.Both teams battle throughout the third period.Finally at the beginning of the final two mintues of the third period Alexis Whitworth got possession of the puck and made a dazzling pass to Chelsea Fuller she flew up to the Hawks net with skillful stick handling and picks the open side of the net and BANG she SCORES the game winning goal,leaving the score 6-0,Kincardine LAkeside Chevrolet/Gm wins.
