This past
Sunday the Home Hardware Novice Rep Team faced off against The Minto Maddogs in
back to back games in order to make up for some postponed games.
First thing in the morning both teams took to the ice full of energy and ready to play. Both teams put up big efforts in the first period and the score remained tied. After a pep talk from Coach Rob, the Kinucks came out on fire. The score was opened by the schooner line, with Tyler Johns putting up the first goal with assists from Dylan Chinnick and Quinton Page. Minutes later Quinton Page scored to make it
2-0 with assists from Tyler Johns and Nathan Arnold. The third period saw the Kinucks light the lamp 4 more times with a goal by Jesse Page from Nolan Janes and Jared Houghton, a goal by Tyler Johns with a fantastic assist from Dylan Chinnick, a goal by Jesse Page from Quinton Page and an un-assisted marker by Quinton Page to end the scoring 6-0.
Rowen Cherrett played an excellent game between the pipes and stopped everything the dogs had to shoot at him, earning him the shut out. The defensive lines held strong, Dayle Chinnick, Jorja Scott, and Gavin Beaty played hard in the corners and kept the front of the net clear.Graeden Colhoun used his speed through out the day to make plays happen and keep the puck alive.
Later that afternoon, the kinucks and Maddogs faced off again for the second time of the day. The Kinucks, having the early afternoon to rest up at home, came out on fire. Just a few seconds into the game Quinton Page scored with an assist to Casey Beisel. Then Tyler Johns scored with an assist going to Quinton Page. Tyler Johns scored again with assists from Casey Beisel and Dylan Chinnick followed by a goal by Quinton Page from Tyler Johns. That ended the first period 4-0. In the second period the Mad dogs defence stepped up and held the Kinucks to a single goal scored un-assisted by Brandon Bishop. The third period though, the Kinucks offence picked up and the Mad dogs long day caught up to them and the Kinucks scored another 5 goals. Nathan Arnold took a nice pass from Jorja Scott and made no mistake in scoring. Casey Beisel scored with an assist to Quinton Page, followed by the hat trick goal for Tyler Johns on a great pass from Jared Houghton. Quinton Page completed his hat trick from Gavin Beaty and Casey Beisel on her 4th point of the game. Quinton Page rounded out the scoring with an un-assisted goal to end the game 10-0. Kwade Beisel made sure the door was closed to the net and earned the shut out. The entire team worked hard and earned the 4 point.
